Information on Trulli

We specialise in the Puglia or Apulia region where one of the most characteristic types of property is the Trullo. Trulli are small cone shaped buildings, normally painted white, which can almost only be found in Puglia and which are particularly concentrated in the areas around Ostuni, Cisternino, Martina Franca, Locorotondo and of course Alberobello which since 1996 is part of the World Heritage List. Trulli are made of stone and due to their design and cone shaped roofs they are warm in the winter and, more importantly, cool in the hot Italian summer.

The oldest Trullo can be found in contrada Marziolla which dates back to 1559. It is possible to find Trulli for sale which are in desperate need of renovation or you can find Trulli for sale which have all ready been renovated however in these cases the cost rises considerably.

Trulli were built and used most recently by people who worked and stayed overnight in the country side. It is therefore possible to find a Trullo for sale in Puglia on a large plot of land with olive trees for as little as €30,000.
